1. The One-Minute TIP

What's your BIG idea? What challenges and excites you?
What takes your breath away, keeps you up at night, makes
you smile all day long? What's your Big Hairy Audacious
Goal? Sometimes it's "distant and far away", but it's in
there! Find it, dust it off, honor it. Pursue it!
People will join you and things will unfold in amazing
ways. Lift your eyes, dream your dreams, take action!
It's what makes life worth the living!

2. Welcome Notes

This week I had the chance to spend a few days on the
coast, letting the wind, sea and rain remind me just how
beautiful our small planet really is. Sitting by the
fire, or talking with Mary, or listening to the surf,
it's hard to believe there is so much trouble in the
world. I hope where you are is peaceful and that on a
daily basis you have a view of some trees, a field, a
mountain or perhaps a river. Every day, let nature remind
you that despite the noise of the news, life still flows
in its natural rhythm.

This week, give someone an extra hug, or kiss, or send them
a card.

Also, I want to thank all the folks who registered for
the World Class Life Conference in May. Almost HALF
the registrants from last year are planning to come back -
do you know of ANY conference, anywhere, that has that
track record?! That's an incredible endorsement and I'm
extremely excited about it!

Our first registration arrived just 33 minutes after TIPS
went out last Sunday, and two more registrations came in by
noon! We have only 50 spaces available, and this is
obviously going to sell out - it did last year and it may
fill up even faster this year.

If you would like to join us in beautiful Wisconsin for 3
days of inspiration, tools, techniques and the TIME to
organize your life, set goals and develop strategies, I
hope you'll take action and register today.

3:  The Every-day Magic of Big Dreams!

There is something uniquely human, and very important,
about looking to the skies. From the beginning of time,
wise men and woman have encouraged us to "look to the
hills, from whence cometh my strength", and we all know the
call of "distant horizons".

Henry Thoreau talked about marching to the beat of our own
drum, "no matter how feint or far away". Humans have
always wondered what's beyond the horizon, over the hill,
or around the bend. We long to see farther, go further and
do more. From the beginning of time, men and women have
insisted on pushing the boundaries to go where no one has
gone before.

And yet in our daily lives, too often we get bogged down in
the trivia of every-day things. Now, of course, life
requires that we do our daily work. Taking care of the
house, running the errands and paying the bills are not
trivial things! They are the routines that make modern
life possible. We rely on each other to be dependable and
to complete our assigned responsibilities.

But, as the old song asks, "is that all there is?" We know
the answer, and it troubles us.

Sometimes, we need to step back and lift our eyes to the
hills and beyond. Sometimes we need to ask the big
questions, and contemplate the big answers.

In 1959, David Schwartz wrote a book called, "The Magic of
Thinking BIG" that has changed thousands of lives. It's
written in an "old" style and there's no mystery or drama
in it, just the truth that we NEED big dreams. There is
something in us that needs a larger destiny, a greater

I think the true heroes have always been people who
balanced three very difficult things:

1. They did their work and fulfilled the ordinary
responsibilities of life as mature adults.

2. They also had the ability to hear and honor a big
dream. Amelia Earhart heard the call. John Glenn heard a
similar call. Teddy Roosevelt never stopped exploring the
great American west. Helen Keller could see more clearly
that most.

3. They were able to take action in the direction of their
dreams. They didn't just look at the horizon and wonder,
they got up and went.

A year ago, I shared my B-HAG, or "Big Hairy Audacious
Goal" of reaching 100,000 people in 2003, and a year later,
I'm here to tell you there is real magic in setting HUGE

People get excited about B-HAGS! We had more new
subscribers last year than ever before! The response to
the World Class Life Conference is unbelievable! The
response to my "Alive, Awake and Aware" program is
fantastic! People love to participate in, and benefit from
BIG dreams.

A generation ago, we responded to President Kenney's
challenge to go to the moon, and now I suspect we will
respond to President Bush's call to go back to the moon and
on to Mars in my lifetime because we LOVE over-coming
obstacles, solving problems, and making a difference! It's
in our nature to be part of something meaningful and
significant. We naturally look to the skies and ask
"what's next?"

So, what's your BIG idea? What challenges and excites you?
What takes your breath away, keeps you up at night, makes
you smile all day long? What's your B-HAG? Sometimes it's
"distant and far away", but it's in there! Find it, dust it
off, honor it. Pursue it! People will join you and things
will unfold in amazing ways. Lift your eyes, dream your
dreams, take action! It's what makes life worth the living!

Need time, space and assistance to achieve your dream?
Need tools and strategies to make it happen? Please join
us for the World Class Life Conference, May 20-22nd.
The world's FIRST conference focused on helping you
design and live the life your truly want!

4. Quotes of the Week

"Nothing happens unless first a dream."
                                       -- Carl Sandburg

"Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those
who dared believe that something inside them was superior
to circumstance."
                                       -- Bruce Barton

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find
out how far one can go."
                                       -- T. S. Eliot

"Throw your heart over the fence and the rest will follow!"
                                       -- Norman Vincent Peale

5. Strictly Business:   Advertising vs. Marketing

I've been struck by the glut of advertising coming my way.
Spam and junk mail are full of it, television is full of
it, even magazines seem to have more. And, I don't buy it.

I've often written that businesses cannot "advertise their
way to success". Of course there is a time and place for
advertising! You have to let people know you exist, and
you need to make a splash with new products or new
services. Advertising is a good thing. But you probably
can't buy enough to build a business with it.

And promotion, particularly self-promotion, has a similar
limitation. Obviously, if you believe in a product or
service, you MUST tell people about it and invite them to
buy. You owe that to yourself, and to the customers who
need and want your service. Promotion has it's place --
I've certainly promoted the World Class Life Conference and
other programs. Would you sign up if I refused to talk
about them? Well, like duh!

But in the end, marketing is a different animal. Marketing
is about your reputation. It's about customer satisfaction
and retention. It's about your relationships. Marketing
is about letting people know who you are, what you do and
what you offer. (Never keep yourself a secret! There is
no advantage in being shy!) Marketing is about YOU more
than your product or service. It's about your reputation,
your level of responsibility and your follow-through.

In the end, most marketing is "free" because it comes from
being who you are and doing what you do, to the best of
your ability.

Many small businesses would be far ahead to scrap their
advertising budget entirely and invest the money in
themselves, their personal development, and their

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

   #1 World-Class Life Conference!
        May 20-22nd

What are your dreams for a "perfect life"? What would you
do if you had permission and you COULD NOT FAIL? What
would you dare? What goals would you set? How would you
live and who would you inspire? What would you add to your
life? What would you eliminate? How would you live if
your life were truly "World-Class" in every detail?

Well, guess what? You HAVE permission! And, there is no
failure! There is only a failure of strategy and sometimes
a failure of nerve. Join us for time and space and
permission and TOOLS to design the life you truly want!
This may be the investment that makes all the difference.
There are only 12 spots at the 50% OFF early discount and
they are going quickly, so take action!

   #2 Transform Your Life!
        The Sedona Method

People ask me how they can "really explode my success and
change my life", and after telling them there is no magic
bullet, I refer them to The Sedona Method(tm). This series
of tapes and workbooks is, without doubt, the MOST
successful, thorough and powerful program for taking charge
of your life that I have ever seen. I wish I had written
it! You can get a FREE initial tape to sample the program,
and for goodness sake, sign up for their free newsletter!
Their simple observation that, 'Happiness is free' opened
my eyes and was the beginning of a remarkable journey. Very
powerful stuff!

The program is not simple or cheap - you expected a quick
pill? It is comprehensive, orderly, and effective. Both
Mary and I have used it, and it works! Highly recommended!

#3 The One Minute Millionaire
An "Almost FREE!" book, CD & Teleclass

This is one of the most impressive books and concepts I've
ever seen. The more I see the impact it's had on my
clients, the more enthused I become! Please, do yourself a
favor and buy the CD (for $11.95) and get the book and
the classes free! They don't even charge for shipping! This
truly is a magnificent deal and the two-books-in-one
concept is sheer genius. Do yourself a favor, buy this, and
buy one for a friend. Every teenager should be REQUIRED to
read it in high school - It's that good!

#4  Make Money From Your Current Website!
     (It's getting MUCH easier!)

I'm a "raving fan" of this system that makes it EASY to
sell my tapes, register people for my classes, and create
my affiliate program, and I want to give you a free tour -
and you can use the system FREE for 30 days! The owner is
Don Schnure, and he has an amazing "system" for helping me
make money with my website and newsletter, without having
to be a techno-wizard. I use the shopping cart, the
affiliate program (took less than an hour to set up!), and
the broadcast modules. It's so cool! Click here for the tour.

7. Humor:    Intaxication????

The Washington Post's Style Invitational once again asked
readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by
adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a
new definition. These were forwarded to me by my friend and
trusted supplier of all things humorous and witty, Dolly
Howard. Thanks, Dolly!

Here are the latest winners:

1. Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which
lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

2. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

3. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people
that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer,
unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the
near future.

4. Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the
purpose of impressing a member of the opposite sex.

5. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders
the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.

6. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high.

7. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit
and the person who doesn't get it.

8. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are
running late.

9. Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.

10. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got
extra credit.)

11. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off
all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the
Earth explodes and it's like a serious bummer.

12. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through
the day consuming only things that are good for you.

13. Glibido: All talk and no action.

14. Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem
smarter when they come at you rapidly.

15. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed
just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

16. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito that
gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot
be cast out.

17. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half
a grub in the fruit you're eating.

Be kind to yourself and to someone else, and have a
wonder-FULL week!
