1. The One-Minute TIP

Life will not wait until we are ready or until we catch our
breath. The winners in the 21st century will thrive on
chaos. They'll see and seize opportunities, and they'll
love the wild ride. They'll recognize the risks and enjoy
the drama, while operating from a place of inner calm. In a
world swirling with change and chaos, they'll invest in
themselves and in their reserves.

2. Welcome Notes

<< Our condolences got out to our thousands of subscribers
and the millions around the world who mourn the death of
Pope John Paul II. There wasn't time to include a note in our
email version, but our thoughts are with all who mourn his death. >>

In the controversy over Terri Schiavo's death, one of the
best things has been the amazing response to my report on
making advance decisions. No family should go through the
pain her family experienced because they don't know what
kind of treatment you do or do not want. Fortunately,
almost 3000 subscribers downloaded that report, an
extremely high response and I am proud of you! I've always
said TIPS has the best subscribers in the world!

On the other hand, if you have not read it, please do so!
And, please pass it on to friends, family and colleagues!
Several businesses made announcements asking every employee
to get it, and at least one professor got permission to
pass it out in class. Get your copy, and send an email to
several people you care about! We all need this info.

The other announcement I want to share is about Suzanne
Falter-Barnes' marketing contest. You could win almost
$5000 in marketing consultations for your business! This is
a good thing (yes, my services are part of the winning
package) and EVERY business owner and manager should enter.
You've got nothing to lose and you could win BIG! Enter at:

Finally, the last seats for the World Class Business are
going fast. I believe there are only 6 spots left (this is
Wed afternoon) and I know there are many of you who should
join us and I would love to beg for a larger space! This is
a tremendous Conference, at a beautiful location, and it
changes lives. If you've been thinking about it, please
take action. Check your schedule, check with your spouse
(why not attend together!?) and sign up. Get info and

3:  Skills for the 21st Century: Thrives on Chaos

NOTE - This is part of a continuing series on achievement
in today's world. The "old" tools are still necessary.
Loyalty, honesty, integrity, hard work will never go out of
date, but peak performance in our world also requires NEW
skills. You can read previous issues at:

The most effective people in the new century will be those
who understand and thrive in a world of chaos. They do not
believe the world is actually "chaotic" because the old
laws of cause-and-effect still apply. You still get results
based on intelligent action and focused effort. But they
understand we live in a world that "seems" chaotic and they
thrive on it.

Peak performers in the 21st century will be comfortable
with ambiguity. They know they will never have "all" the
information. They know that the rules are constantly
changing, and yet they play "flat-out" because they expect
to win. They know that action and direction in the midst of
chaos are STILL the key to leadership and success.

In this regard, I'm intrigued by the popular TV show,
"Desperate Housewives." Millions of people identify with
the chaos, confusion and over-whelm of the characters. We
identify with the over-worked mother of hyper-active kids
and the dizzy divorcee.

Obviously this fictional show is designed for drama and
ratings, but what troubles me is that unlike the characters
on the show, the WINNERS in life do not fall into the trap
of over-whelm and dysfunction. They still have to get
things done.

Several things are necessary to thrive in the midst of chaos:

1. Exceptional boundaries. This is where the "desperate"
housewives go astray because they seem to have no
boundaries at all. Winners know how to say no. They know
how to close their doors and ignore disruptions. They know
where they are going and they tolerate few, if any,

2. Exceptional vision. They know their priorities and
their desired outcomes. They know what they want and they
can see, taste, smell and almost touch their results in
advance. They have goals rather than mere hopes or dreams.

3. Exceptional self-direction. I talked about this last
week as Positive Self-Projection. They are in charge of
their lives and chaos around them is just that - other
people's chaos swirling around them, while they maintain an
inner calm. They are not lost or confused about their
priorities or their direction.

4. Exceptional optimism. They see chaos as opportunity.
Chaos "stirs the pot" and opens doors. Rather than annoying
or frustrating them, they love it! On a wild and windy day,
a rainbow may appear at any moment and they welcome it.

5. Exceptional Reserves. They take care of themselves.
They eat well, rest often, save and invest wisely and when
opportunity knocks, they are waiting to answer the door.
They operate from strength and stability, while a chaotic
world wreaks havoc on the competition.

6. Exceptional response-ability. Rather than reacting from
anger or anxiety, they see an ever-changing world and they
thoughtfully respond to opportunities that present
themselves. "Desperate" people react; winners respond.

John Lennon observed that "life is what happens while you
were making other plans." Life will not wait until we are
ready or until we catch our breath. The winners in the 21st
century will thrive on chaos. They'll see and seize
opportunities, and they'll love the wild ride. They'll
recognize the risks and enjoy the drama, while operating
from a place of inner calm. In a world swirling with change
and chaos, they'll invest in themselves and in their

4. Quotes of the Week

"If you are clear about what you want, the world responds
with clarity."
                                          -- Loretta Staples

"Fear is nothing except a drain of energy and not a power unto
itself. Trust in yourself, for therein lies the true power."
                                          -- Lori Hard

"Enthusiasm finds the opportunities, and energy makes the
most of them."
                                          -- Henry Hoskins"

"I couldn't wait for success, so I went ahead without it."
                                          -- Jonathan Winters

5. Strictly Business:   Attracting Riches (and Money)

Making money is an interesting hobby. There is lots of
money in the world and the world is awash with it. There is
more money floating around, changing hands and making
people wealthy than ever before. And yet, most of us work
very hard trying to find a way to attract more of it.

Here's a simple rule: Making money is hard; being of
service is easy.

And here's the brilliant corollary: If you can serve enough
people, they will give you money out of gratitude.

Too many business people go directly for the money and find
it awfully hard to get ahead. Money does not want to be
trapped or tricked or corralled. Money is a reward for the
service we provide to others and in some strange way, it
flows to those who serve.

Do you need a good business plan, good people and good
products? Of course! But the primary focus must be on
providing value and serving your customer. If you do that,
and do it with honesty and with style and enthusiasm, the
money will follow. It always has and always will.

We all prefer doing business with people we like and trust.
We prefer doing business with people who make things easy,
who serve us well, and who stand behind their product or
service, and do it with an easy smile and lots of grace.

Only rarely is a deal based primarily on price. I routinely
drive past businesses (grocery stores, lawyers, repair
shops) who might offer a lower price in order to do
business where I have confidence in the service I'll
receive. I bet you're the same way and in business, you
want to use that to your advantage.

Find a way to provide extraordinary service and the money
will follow. That's been my experience and I trust it. I
think it'll work for you, too.

the quality of life you experience in both work and play,

fun!) than the past. I'm at:

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1    Protect Yourself and Your Loved Ones
        Get This Complimentary Report!

Visit my website for this short, complimentary report that
can encourage you, your friends, family and loved ones to
protect themselves from the tragedy Terri Shiavo's family
has suffered. It's easy, it's common-sense, and it could
make a world of difference. Remember, Terri was vibrant and
healthy the afternoon before she was rushed to the
hospital. You never know when you'll desperately need this
information. Encourage your friends and every member of
your family to do this!

#2    The 11th Annual World Class Life Conference
May 12-14th, in Green Lake, WI
Open the Door to Your Future!
        Create the Life You Love!

There are two groups of people who eagerly attend this
Conference every year: (1) High achievers who know the
extraordinary value of gaining perspective, personal power
and renewal, and (2) high achievers who are sick and tired
(frustrated!) with their sense of "permanent potential."

I'm told Bill Gates takes a two-week retreat on Hood Canal
four times a year. He knows the value of time to think, to
relax, to let his imagination run wild and gain
perspective. Bill Clinton made the Renaissance retreat in
Hilton Head famous and it's attended by dozens of the
richest, most powerful people in America every New Year.
Imagine, putting yourself in a beautiful setting and
surrounding yourself with bright, dedicated, success people
who were there to help you do better! YOU CAN DO THIS!

I invite you to join us in Wisconsin at one of the most
beautiful retreat centers in the world. We'll focus on YOU.
We focus on the keys to "the good life." We focus on the
strategies that work, and we network with people who can
help us "get there." This is my favorite event of the year,
because it's the BEST VALUE and the MOST POWERFUL. I hope
you'll join us! Take action, check it out, and register!

#4    Got a Website?
        Earn Passive Income!

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me
serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None
of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they
were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I
discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put
together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and
they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs
and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And, you
can use it for 30 days to check it out. Highly recommended!

7. Humor:    You Know It's 2005 When...

Long-time subscriber, Moreah, sent these along and I'm not
sure if they're funny or sad, or merely signs of the times.
They made me chuckle and they reminded me to slow down just
a bit. I hope you enjoy them!

You know it's 2005 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and
family is that they changed their e-mail addresses.

6. You go home after a long day at work you still answer
the phone in a business manner.

7. When you make phone calls from home, you accidentally
dial "9" to get an outside line.

8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked
for three different companies.

10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news.

11. Your boss doesn't know how to do your job.

12. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell
phone to see if anyone is home.

13. Every commercial on television has a website at the
bottom of the screen.

14. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you
didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life,
is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

15. You get up in the morning and go online before getting
your coffee.

16. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. :)

17. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

18. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to
forward this message.

19. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

20. You actually scrolled back up to see if there was a #9
on the list, AND NOW U R LAUGHING at yourself.

Be kind to yourself and to someone else, and have a
wonder-FULL week!
