1. The One-Minute TIP

Set it as your minimum standard to live a GREAT life, a
"World Class" life. Determine to make a difference and have
some fun! One day down the road, we all have to look back
over the years and when that time comes, we want to smile,
knowing we did it right. Set that as your standard, and go
for it!

2. Welcome Notes

First, I want to thank the dozens of subscribers who wrote
to extend their sympathy on my injured ankle and wish me a
speedy recovery. I'm always touched by the personal
relationships TIPS has created. Thanks to each of you!

On another personal note, I had a shocking (and humorous)
example of how much the future tends to repeat the past
UNLESS we take specific, conscious steps to change
direction. Mary almost never asks to go out to dinner
(that's usually my job) but one night this week she asked
to go to an Italian restaurant we hadn't visited in many

A few minutes later we were waiting for our table and I
heard myself continuing a conversation we started in that
same lobby years ago! I hadn't planned it, but I heard the
words coming out of my mouth and I had to laugh! It only
happens in this one place, but when we go to Mazzi's, we
ALWAYS talk about our fantasy trip to Tuscany!

There is no doubt in my mind that (1) we are creatures of
habit, and (2) we are powerfully influence by our
surroundings! What "automatic" thoughts, words and actions
influence your days? What small change in your world might
have a HUGE influence in your productivity, your future and
your happiness? What should you change to guarantee that
2006 will be a GREAT year?

And, that leads me to the 11th Annual World Class Life
Conference in Wisconsin, this May 11-13th. I sent a special
TIPS this week and 9 people signed up in the first 24
hours! This is a wonderful, powerful chance to pamper
yourself and focus on designing, creating and LIVING the
life you truly want! Why not put yourself in the perfect
surroundings? There are still a couple "early adopter"
discounts left and I hope you'll take action, get in gear
and join us!

Also this week, over 10% of our subscribers signed up for
the no-charge (that means FR**) report I created. I call it
"The Four Steps to A World Class Life" and I strongly
encourage you to get a copy. I've made it really easy! You
can get it two different ways, whichever is more
convenient: (a) you can visit the website at:  and use the form in the upper-
right corner, or (b) you can send an email to:

3:  Design, Create and Live a GREAT Life!

What does a GREAT life mean to you? That is one of the most
important questions an adult can ask - and answer.

Too many of us wander through life and never examine that
question, we never rigorously decide exactly what a GREAT
would look like.

We all know that a great life does not happen by accident.
A great life is not inherited and it does not come with a
diploma, a promotion, getting married, having kids or
retiring early. A great life is NEVER automatic. Sure, lots
of money, a penthouse apartment, political power or winning
the Nobel Prize are wonderful things and I encourage you to
aspire to ALL of them.

But none of them will guarantee a GREAT life.

It seems to me that a GREAT life has a grand purpose, a
central theme and a unifying vision. A great life is a
lifestyle that is chosen "on purpose" and is lived in the
service of a vision greater than itself. A great life is
living "a life of one's own" and it is invested, not merely

Second, it seems to me that a GREAT life makes a great
contribution. A great life uses its talents and abilities
to make at least one small corner of the world a better
place. A great life stands up, speaks out, and gets things
done. A GREAT life makes a difference and leaves the world
better than we found it.

Third, it seems to me that a GREAT life leaves a path for
others to follow. It is good to do great things; it's even
BETTER to do great things and teach others to follow your
lead. A GREAT life leaves a legacy. A GREAT life inspires
the next generation to go further, reach farther, dream
bigger and achieve more.

I am convinced that every one of us has the ability and the
right to a GREAT life. Greatness is not reserved for a
lucky few, for the rich or the powerful, for the artistic
or for any small category of people. Living a GREAT life is
the birthright of every human being, whether we express
greatness in designing tall buildings, or by teaching
children to stand tall.

Greatness is our birthright, whether we express our
greatness in business or government, in art or music, in
parenting, or in any of the thousands of so-called "small"
ways that we often over-look, but which are absolutely
essential. Most people remember a special teacher, and
many of us had an uncle who taught us to whistle or a
grandmother who taught us to read. Perhaps there was a
neighbor who taught us to fish, who gave us our first job,
or encouraged us to persevere when things were hard.

We all have the opportunity, and the challenge, to make a
difference and to be GREAT. Each of us is invited to live
a magnificent life, a life of substance and distinction
that changes the world for those around us.

I love the story of the "star thrower," about a man walking
on a beach after a storm, throwing starfish back into the
ocean so they won't die on the shore. Someone criticizes
him for wasting his time, noting there are millions of
starfish, and the few he saves won't make much difference.
The man silently bends over, throws another starfish into
the surf and replies, "It made a difference for that one."

Set it as your minimum standard to live a GREAT life, a
"World Class" life. Determine to make a difference and have
some fun! One day down the road, we all have to look back
over the years and when that time comes, we want to smile,
knowing we did it right. Set that as your standard, and go
for it!

Designing and building a World Class Life(tm) is what our
May Conference is about - looking at values and
aspirations, at strategies and practical steps, and at
what's possible. Space has sold out the last three years in
a row, and I expect space will go quickly. Put it on your
calendar, register and join us! You deserve this wonderful
experience, so take action, check it out and sign up!

At a minimum, be sure to get your fr^e report,
"The Four Steps To A World Class Life." It's easy!
     Visit the website at
and use the form in the upper-right corner, or if it's
more convenient, just send a blank email to:  You'll be glad you did!

4. Quotes of the Week

"We have to do the best we can. This is our sacred human
                                       -- Albert Einstein

"Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream
things that never were and ask why not."
                                       -- George Bernard Shaw

"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find
out how far one can go."
                                       -- T. S. Eliot

"Freedom is actually a bigger game than power. Power is about
what you can control. Freedom is about what you can unleash."
                                       -- Harriet Rubin

5. Strictly Business:   Is It Easy to Do Business With You?

One of the basics for any business is that it should be
EASY for customers to do business with you! It should be
easy to find you, easy to talk with you, easy to order and
easy to get great service when it's needed.

This week, I violated that basic rule.

In announcing the World Class Life (tm) Conference we
increased our online shopping cart security but in our
concern for safety, we made the system so strict that NO
ONE could register, including myself! The first seven
people to register were all declined, including a doctor
from Chicago who has apparently changed his mind. In our
attempts to enhance security, I may have lost a customer
who was obviously eager to attend. That's a loss for my
business, for the good doctor, and for everyone who would
have benefited from his participation.

Don't do that to your business!

And yet businesses do that every day. One local restaurant
has an impossible parking lot. I think it's dangerous and I
hate going there. I see businesses without good signs, and
I call businesses who don't accept calls from "blocked"
numbers! How dumb is that?

I see home-based businesses without dedicated business
phones, or worse, that share answering machines with their

A while back on the television show, "The Apprentice," one
candidate cursed during an interview in the board room.
Would Donald Trump hire an executive who uses that kind of
language in a formal meeting? I don't think so.

Make it easy to do business with you, and remember -
"everything counts!" Both success and failure are in the
details. Make it easy to do business with you.

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1     The 11th Annual World Class Life Conference
May 11-13th, in Green Lake, WI
Open the Door to Your Future!
         Create the Life You Love!

There are two groups of people who eagerly attend this
Conference every year: (1) people who know the
extraordinary value of perspective, personal power and
renewal, and (2) people who are ready to take the "next
step" in their lives, people who are determined that this
is the year they go "forward!"

I'm told Bill Gates takes a two-week retreat on Hood Canal
four times a year. He knows the value of time to think, to
relax, to let his imagination run wild and gain
perspective. Bill Clinton made the Renaissance retreat in
Hilton Head famous and it's attended by dozens of the
richest, most powerful people in America every year.
Imagine, putting yourself in a beautiful setting and
surrounding yourself with bright, dedicated, successful
people who are there to help you do better! YOU CAN DO

I invite you to join us at one of the most beautiful
retreat centers in the world. We'll focus on YOU. We focus
on the keys to "the good life." We focus on the strategies
that work, and we network with people who can help us "get
there." This is my favorite event of the year, because it's
the BEST VALUE and the MOST POWERFUL. I hope you'll join
us! Take action, check it out, and register!

How To Make 2006 Your Best Ever

Want to guarantee your success in 2006? Of course you do!
We all do. And, we all know that success comes from setting
goals, but we also know that goals are easier to set than
to achieve. Too often we visualize our goals and start off
strong, but then daily life gets in the way and without a
"system" we get distracted.

Don't let that happen to you in 2006!

To make 2006 the year you've always dreamed of, and the
year you'll never forget, you need a system. You'll need
support. You'll need mentoring (we all do) and on-going
commitment. These things are essential! My friend and
colleague, Michael Angier, has created the success system!
He's created a low-cost, high-impact program that will keep
you focused, keep you encouraged, and keep you empowered
throughout the year. Check It out! (There are just a few
spots left and the deadline is rapidly approaching. Take
ACTION and do it today!)

What are your goals worth to you? What is it worth to
create the life you've always wanted? Jump on this. Get the
info and make an informed decision. It's at:

#3    Think Right Now!
The Best Tools for CHANGE I've Found!

Many of you have purchased these audio programs to increase
sales, lose weight, set and achieve goals or improve diet,
health and fitness and you know how good they are! My
clients turned me on to these CD's several months ago and
I'm incredibly impressed. I strongly urge you to jump on
this! Top achievers in every field listen to audio
programs. They imagine themselves winning, getting new
records and living the life they truly WANT, and they do it
by visualizing their victories in advance with the help of
Mike's programs. These are fantastic, both for yourself and
as gifts. Grab these!

#4     Got a Website?
         Earn Passive Income!

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me
serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None
of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they
were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I
discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put
together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and
they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs
and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And, you
can use it for 30 days to check it out. Highly recommended!

7. Humor:    Classic Burma Shave Signs!

I assume most TIPS readers are too young to remember these
old signs along America's country roads, but Bill Barrow's
forwarded these to me and for those "of a certain age" they
bring back wonderful memories. And, they are good reminders
for you "young ones" as well. Enjoy!

Remember these? For those who never saw the Burma Shave
signs, here is a quick lesson in our history of the 1930's
and '40's. Before the Interstates, when everyone drove the
old 2 lane roads, Burma Shave signs would be posted all
over the countryside in farmers' fields. They were small
red signs with white letters. Five signs, about 100 feet
apart, each containing 1 line of a 4 line couplet......and
the obligatory 5th sign advertising Burma Shave, a popular
shaving cream.

Here are some of the actual signs:

Burma Shave

Burma Shave

And my all time favorite:
