1. The One-Minute TIP

We live in the richest, most abundant time in history. We
have the freedom to do and enjoy things our grandparents
never imagined, and that means we also have the freedom to
occasionally sit and "do nothing." We have the freedom to
choose who we will be and how we will live. Use your
freedom to create the life you truly want!

2. Welcome Notes

The first order of business is to acknowledge the SUPER
BOWL! (For subscribers around the world who neither know
nor care what that is, it's a famous sporting event here in
the U.S.) I've stocked up on chips and dip, and already
placed our pizza order! If you care about such things, may
you enjoy the game with friends and may your team win! (At
the risk of offending thousands of subscribers, I'm
cheering for a team who's name starts with "S"!)

Second, a friend reminded me to re-read a marvelous old
book called The Magic of Thinking Big, by David J.
Schwartz. My copy says it was published in 1959, and it's
well worth reading. Too often we caught in the details of
life and we start playing small. Schwartz reminds us to go
"all out." Dream big, then stretch to make it happen. Why not!?

I read about an hour a day, and it's one of the best things
I do. Every month or so, I publish 4-6 book reviews to
share some of my notes with the world. There's no cost, and
I hope you'll join us! If you'd like a subscription, sign

Finally, this week 7 more people registered for my World
Class Life Conference in May! In just two weeks, we're half-
way to our capacity! This thing always fills up, but we've
never had so many registrations so quickly. I'm thrilled!
We are still offering a 30% discount (and a cool bonus!)
for early adopters who "get" this and know it's the right
thing to do.

I hope you'll join us! But take action and reserve your
spot. The material is the best I've ever done, the Center
is one of the most inspiring places on earth, and the
opportunity is unsurpassed! This thing changes lives, and
feedback from past attendees is amazing! This is powerful!
(How many conferences have you attended that we so good,
you went back again! We have people who come back year
after year, and I'm very proud of that.)

Take action. Check it out. Register and reserve YOUR spot!

3:  We're Running As Fast As We Can

Last Monday, the financial news reported that Americans
are saving at the lowest rate since the Great Depression in
1933. We are actually saving a negative 0.5% of our income!

Instead of investing for the future, we are dipping into
our savings to buy cars, vacations, and appliances. What
struck me is that we aren't spending our money to buy
assets like real estate, stocks or antiques, but are
spending it on depreciating items like cars.

The last time Americans dipped into their savings at this
rate (in 1933), the money went for things like food,
clothing and shelter. Today, it goes for a vacation or a
new television.

What does that say about us?

I think it suggests we are working so hard and running so
fast that sometimes we don't think clearly. We are not
stupid or spend-thrift people.

I think we're just running too fast.

It's not fair to blame advertising or "consumerism" for our
spending habits. The Japanese and Europeans are exposed to
as much advertising as we are, and in many cases they have
access to new toys and gadgets before we do. And yet they

The difference, in my humble opinion, is that we are simply
too busy.

Europeans take more time off than we do. From longer lunch
breaks, to more holidays and paid vacations, they "sit"
more than we do. They spend more time at the beach than we

Americans tend to run. We "run" errands. We "run" to catch
the elevator, we "run" down to the store and over to the
bank. We "run" all the time. And in the process, sometimes
we lose our way.

A friend recently told me he was stunned when he added up
his credit card debt. He says, "it got away from me. I
charged this and that, and never realized what the total
was. I can't believe it!" Another acquaintance rarely
balances his checkbook because he "doesn't have time." He
glances at his monthly statement to see if it "looks right"
and drops it in a file drawer.

They are "too busy" to manage their finances as well as
they could.

How about you? Whether it's your finances or your family,
your diet or your career, are you managing life the way you
would like? Do you take time to pause and crunch the
numbers? Do you read to your kids or talk with your spouse?
Do you meditate or journal, exercise or play as much as you
would like?

We live in the richest, most abundant time in history. We
have the freedom to do and enjoy things our grandparents
never imagined, and that means we also have the freedom to
occasionally sit and "do nothing." We have the freedom to
choose who we will be and how we will live. Use your
freedom to create the life you truly want!

I love toys and travel as much as anyone. Yes, we recently
bought a big new television and Mary drives a gorgeous,
bright red car, and I love that she loves it. But those
things do not make us rich.

From time to time, watch a sunset. Read a good novel or
play games as a family. From time to time, use your wealth
to create a rich life.

If you would like time to pause and renew, I hope
you'll join us for the World Class Life Conference
in May. We'll talk about our values and our goals,
we'll talk about balance and elegant strategies to
create the life you truly want. I hope you'll join us!

4. Quotes of the Week

"Maintaining a complicated life is a great way to avoid
changing it."
                                      -- Elaine St. James

"Our background and circumstances may have influenced who
we are, but we are responsible for who we become."
                                      -- Barbara Geraci"

"My friends have made the story of my life ... turned my
limitations into beautiful privileges, and enabled me to
walk serene and happy."
                                      -- Helen Keller

"Everything changes when you change."
                                      -- Jim Rohn

5. Strictly Business:   Back-up Everything!

For many years, I've kept two files with all my personal
passwords, account numbers, credit cards and emergency
numbers in it. One is a paper file tucked in my desk, and
the other is an Excel spreadsheet copied on a disk in my
safe deposit box.

This week that little piece of paper saved my butt! I have
an old bank account with some money tucked away for
emergencies and I decided to make a change in it. I thought
I knew the password, but guess what? No go! I tried it a
couple times, then got the message that because of
"unauthorized attempts to access" the account, it was being

Fortunately, I had my backup file and after a few minutes
on the phone, I was able to resolve the problem.

Do you have adequate back-ups for the critical systems in
your life?

Obviously, we're talking primarily about computer systems.
Back-up your files, back-up your passwords, back-up all
that critical data you work with every day and tend to take
for granted.

But, how about the non-digital things in life?

Did you change the batteries in your smoke detectors on
January 1st? Do it now! Do you have a second smoke detector
in the hallway, just in case? How about in the kid's room,
or the garage? They're cheap, and they can save your life.

How about back-up copies of your passport, your insurance
policies, and your marriage license? How about copies of
vital medical records or prescriptions? Take photocopies of
everything, and keep them in a safe place. (Hint: photocopy
both sides of every card and piece of paper in your

From a business perspective, this is essential. Keep copies
of tax records, invoices, and customer lists. Photocopies
are cheap, and from personal experience I can testify they
can save your butt! "Just do it!"

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1    The 11th Annual World Class Life(tm) Conference
        May 11-13th in Beautiful Wisconsin!
Take ACTION. Reserve Your Spot Today.

Have you noticed that it's always the people who are
already AT THE TOP of the pyramid who attend the most
trainings? Why do they do it?

Top achievers know the value of investing to create the
life they truly want. They know the value of study, and of
preparation. Perhaps most importantly, they know the value
of spending time with other TOP ACHIEVERS. They know the
value of perspective, balance, skill and networking with
the best of the best. That's why top achievers get
"addicted to winning!" They love winning but they also love
the process of winning!

A great life does not happen by accident or by working
"harder" and hoping for the best. Success in life - total,
balanced, fulfilling success - is the logical result of
doing the right things, in the right order, at the right
time. The WCL has been THE turning point for many, many
people over the years. It gives you the tools and the time,
the space and permission to focus on what you truly want
for this one and only life. It gives you strategies that
work, and the inspiration to work them. This May, make the
commitment to create and live the life you truly want!

I hope you'll join us. Get all the info and register at:

#2    Achieve Your Goals, Transform Your Life!
        The "Sedona Method"

People ask me how they can "really explode my success and
change my life", and after telling them there is no magic
bullet, I refer them to The Sedona Method(tm). This series
of audios and workbooks is, without doubt, the MOST
successful, thorough and powerful program for taking
charge of your life that I have ever seen. I wish I had
written it! You can get a FREE initial tape to sample the
program, and for goodness sake, sign up for their free

Their simple observation that, 'Happiness is free' opened
my eyes and was the beginning of a remarkable journey. Very
powerful stuff!

The program is not simple or cheap - you expected a
quick pill? It is comprehensive, orderly, and effective.
Both Mary and I have used it, and it works! Highly

#3    Think Right Now!
The Best Tools for CHANGE I've Found!

Many of you have purchased these audio programs to increase
sales, lose weight, set and achieve goals or improve diet,
health and fitness and you know how good they are! My
clients turned me on to these CD's several months ago and
I'm incredibly impressed. I strongly urge you to jump on
this! Top achievers in every field listen to audio
programs. They imagine themselves winning, getting new
records and living the life they truly WANT, and they do it
by visualizing their victories in advance with the help of
Mike's programs. These are fantastic, both for yourself and
as gifts. Grab these!

#4    Got a Website?
        Earn Passive Income!

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me
serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None
of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they
were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I
discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put
together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and
they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs
and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And, you
can use it for 30 days to check it out. Highly recommended!

7. Humor:    Why God Made Moms

John Donovan sends me humor from time to time, and he
recently sent me this list. I hadn't seen it before, and
thought it was excellent. Sit back, enjoy - and give thanks
for your Mom! (Maybe surprise her this week with a card or
call, even though it's not Mother's Day!)

When children were asked about their mothers, here's what
they said:

Why did God make mothers?
1. She's the only one who knows where the scotch tape is.
2. Mostly to clean the house.
3. To help us out of there when we were getting born.

How did God make mothers?
1. He used dirt, just like for the rest of us.
2. Magic plus super powers and a lot of stirring.
3. God made my Mom just the same like he made me. He just
    used bigger parts.

What ingredients are mothers made of?
1. God makes mothers out of clouds and angel hair and
everything nice in the world and one dab of mean.
2. They had to get their start from men's bones. Then they
    mostly use string, I think.

What kind of little girl was your Mom?
1. My Mom has always been my Mom and none of that other stuff.
2. I don't know because I wasn't there, but my guess would
    be pretty bossy.
3. They say she used to be nice.

Why did your Mom marry your dad?
1. My dad makes the best spaghetti in the world. And my Mom
    eats a lot.
2. She got too old to do anything else with him.
3. My grandma says that Mom didn't have her thinking cap on.

What's the difference between moms and dads?
1. Moms know how to talk to teachers without scaring them.
2. Dads are taller & stronger, but moms have all the real
power 'cause that's who you got to ask if you want to sleep
    over at your friend's.
3. Moms have magic, they make you feel better without medicine.

What does your Mom do in her spare time?
1. Mothers don't do spare time.
2. To hear her tell it, she pays bills all day long.

What would it take to make your Mom perfect?
1. On the inside she's already perfect. Outside, I think
    some kind of plastic surgery.
2. Diet. You know, her hair. I'd diet, maybe blue.

If you could change one thing about your Mom, what would it be?
1. She has this weird thing about me keeping my room clean.
    I'd get rid of that.
2. I'd make my Mom smarter. Then she would know it was my
sister who did it and not me.
3. I would like for her to get rid of those invisible eyes
    on her back.

Be kind to yourself and to someone else, and have a
wonder-FULL week!
