1. The One-Minute TIP

If you are headed where you want to go in life, good for
you! Keep on going! But, if you would like something more
or different for your life, accept that you are in charge.
You do not "have to" repeat yesterday's habits! Make new
choices. Take charge. Make small, repeated changes in your
thoughts, your habits, your actions and, ultimately, in
your destiny. You can do this!

2. Welcome Notes

Last Sunday I announced our 12th annual World Class Life
Conference and five people signed up that same day! As I
write this (Thursday) I believe we have 8 registrations,
which means only three more people will get in for half-
price and get the free round of golf on top of that! I'm
thrilled! So far, about half our registrations are from
people who have attended before and liked the program so
much, they are coming back again!

That is a tremendous endorsement and I think it must be
some a record. Lots of conferences get nice endorsements
and compliments, but how many have you attended that made
such a difference that you took the time (and money) to
attend a second time!? I take that as a tremendous
compliment! If it's time for you to get serious about your
life, your future and your destiny, I hope you'll join us.

3:  Who's in Charge of Your Life?

Last year, I read the wonderful novel, "The Devil Wears
," and a couple weeks ago, Mary and I rented the movie
on DVD. It's a good book and Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep
work well together in the movie, but the most important
line in both the book and the movie are the words, "I don't
have a choice."

The story's about an ambitious young woman who gets a dream
job ("a million women would kill for your job!") working
for the editor of a top fashion magazine. Soon, the job and
her boss have taken over her life, leaving her exhausted,
harming her relationships, and causing her to violate her
principles. But, through it all, she explains, "I have no
choice." She's afraid of being fired. She's afraid of
failure. She's afraid to stand up for herself. And in the
end, she loses her sense of who she is.

Of course, in the book and movie, it's all very dramatic
and the "slippery slope" is rarely so clear in real life.
But the phrase, "I have to" has become a normal part of our

Every day, I hear people say they "have to" go to work, run
errands, answer the phone, or do some other chore. In most
cases, what they mean is that some task or responsibility
they have agreed to fulfill is calling and now they "must"
take care of it. I understand that.

But it's also essential that we are careful about the
language we use with ourselves! Our brain is always
listening to what we say, especially when we talk to

At our World Class Life Conference each May, I tell the
participants there is only one thing we "must" do. I ask
them to name it and people typically mention that they
"have to" work, eat, breath or take care of their family. I
correct them by saying the only thing I know we "must" do
is die. EVERYTHING else is a choice.

I highly recommend you pay your taxes. I recommend you eat
and breath and address a hundred other ordinary
responsibilities, but the point is, you do NOT "have to!"

Your life belongs to you, and only you can decide how you
will live it. Your life is a "do it yourself project." Make
sure you create the life you truly want!

Obviously, we all make compromises in life. We've agreed to
do certain things. We have responsibilities. We've learned
that to "get along, sometimes we have to go along." And in
the "margins" of life, there's nothing wrong with that. But
in the "big" things, in the core of who you are and how you
live your life, your choices DO matter. In fact, your
choices make all the difference in the world.

I begin most days by writing in my journal, and on my desk
I have a card with the following reminder: "Today, I am in
charge. I choose my thoughts. I choose my attitudes. I
choose my actions. And through them, I choose my destiny."

Your life belongs to you, and what you do with it is your
greatest responsibility.

I rarely recommend that we make big or dramatic life
changes. Life is a bit like steering a cruise ship and
sudden changes can throw lots of people off-balance.
Fortunately, life rarely asks us to do that. But, lots of
small, incremental daily changes can work miracles!

If you are headed where you want to go in life, good for
you! Keep on going! But, if you would like something more
or different for your life, accept that you are in charge.
You do not "have to" repeat yesterday's habits! Make new
choices. Take charge. Make small, repeated changes in your
thoughts, your habits, your actions and, ultimately, in
your destiny. You can do this!

At the World Class Life Conference we talk about "how
to do it" and "what to do." We talk about a life of peace, joy,
passion and ultimate fulfillment. If you would like to know
more, I hope you'll join us. Choose to take action! Get more

4. Quotes of the Week

"Happiness is that state of consciousness which proceeds
from the achievement of one's values."

"Inspiration grows into full-scale creation through
persistence and imagination."
                                         -- Carol Lloyd

"Some men see things as they are and ask why. Others dream
things that never were and ask why not."
                                         -- George Bernard Shaw

"Nothing happens unless first a dream."
                                         -- Carl Sandburg

5. Strictly Business:   Why Are You Doing This?

Every successful business leader has a clear answer to this
vital question: Why are you building this company? Who does
it serve and what's your greater purpose? Answering these
questions costs you very little, and it can pay huge

For some entrepreneurs, the primary purpose is simply to
create a business that can be sold. They have a talent for
designing systems to meet a real need while making a
profit, and they love starting new businesses. Once the
company is established, they often sell it and may repeat
the process again and again through the years.

Most business owners, however, have some other purpose in
mind, and it is often deeply personal. Some want to build a
company they can pass on to their children. Others want to
see how large and profitable they can make it, and they
dream of a vast enterprise with thousands of employees.
Still others, want a business that expresses their values
or contributes to society in some way.

In coaching hundreds of entrepreneurs, I am struck that it
does not seem to matter what the reason actually is. What
matters is the ability to keep it in sight at all times.
Knowing your personal vision, your purpose or mission, the
"reason why we do this", is absolutely critical.

The solution is simple: Keep your eyes on the prize! Step
back, gain perspective, renew your commitment. Remember WHY
you are doing this! If you are clear about the "why",
you'll figure out the "how".

6. Resources and Tools for YOUR Success!

#1  The 12th Annual World Class Life(tm) Conference
      May 17-19th in Beautiful Wisconsin!
      If not now, when?
      If not you, who?

The most successful people in the world know who they are
and where they are going. Living well can be defined as
living "a life of one's own." Too many of us spend our
lives working hard, racing from here to there and chasing
other people's goals! Don't let that happen to you! You
DESERVE time to focus on yourself! You deserve time to
clarify your major purpose and highest aspirations in life!
You deserve practical, powerful strategies to make your
dreams come true!

Of course you do! And the winners in life TAKE the time.
They INVEST in themselves, their skills and their goals.
They network with the best people they can find. They
attend the seminars. They plot strategy and make sure they
are "on course" and focused on their most important

A great life does not happen by accident or by working
"harder" and hoping for the best. Success in life - total,
balanced, fulfilling success - is the logical result of
doing the right things, in the right order, at the right
time. The WCL has been THE turning point for many, many
people over the years. It gives you the tools and the time,
the space and permission to focus on what you truly want
for this one and only life. It gives you strategies that
work, and the inspiration to work them. This May, make the
commitment to create and live the life you truly want!

I hope you'll join us. Get all the info and register at:

#3   Got a Website?
       Earn Passive Income!

Over the years, I've paid lots of money for shopping carts,
autoresponders and systems that were supposed to help me
serve my subscribers and make money from my website. None
of them worked, or more accurately they worked, but they
were complex, confusing and didn't work very well. Then I
discovered Don Schnure and the amazing programs he's put
together. They work! They are powerful, EASY to use, and
they let me automate my newsletter, my affiliate programs
and my shopping cart, with no hassle! I love this! And, you
can use it for 30 days to check it out. Highly recommended!

7. Humor:    The Seamstress

This is a wonderful little story send by my friend and
frequent source of chuckles, Dolly Howard. Here's to you!
And, I hope all of you enjoy this little bit of profound
insight to how the world really works..

One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close
to a river, her thimble fell into the river. When she cried out,
the Lord appeared and asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?"

The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the
water and that she needed it to help her husband in making a
living for their family.

The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a
golden thimble set with pearls.

"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked

The seamstress replied, "No."

The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a silver
thimble ringed with sapphires.

"Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.

Again, the seamstress replied, "No."

The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather
thimble. "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.

The seamstress replied, "Yes."

The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her
all three thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.

Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her
husband along the riverbank, and her husband fell into the river
and disappeared under the water. When she cried out, the Lord
again appeared and asked her, "Why are you crying?"

"Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!"

The Lord went down into the water and came up with George

"Is this your husband?" the Lord asked.

"Yes," cried the seamstress .

The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!"

The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, Lord. It is a
misunderstanding. You see, if I had said 'no' to George Clooney,
you would have come up with Brad Pitt. Then if I said 'no' to
him, you would have come up with my husband. Had I then said
'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord, I'm not in the best
of health and would not be able to take care of all three husbands,
so THAT'S why I said 'yes' to George Clooney.

And so the Lord let her keep him.

The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it's for
a good and honorable reason, and in the best interest of others.

That's our story, and we're sticking to it.
